I have the honour to aak azsistence in the

matter of enforcing on epupanies registered in Hong- kang under the china (Companies) Order in council of 1915 compliance, where neceenary, with article 3 of the China (Companies) Amendment urder in Coun-

oil of 1919.

My attention was called to the position of tr *ing un company, (uhanghai), Limited, and after suue correevondence, the negistrar at Hongken, sent de on 5th, Aarch the enclosed despatch which dez- cribes accurately the present awkwerd state of

His Ercelleroy the Governor also telegraphed

and wrote on 10th, orrch asƐing me to wait till the

Commonlee urdinance of 101" van soendod so as to

coincide with the 1^10 u#der, which was not offi-

cirlly comforted to Par komp at the time of issue,

I have not, however, heard xry news of the

expected recending Ordinence and aeswhile I me on-

able to enforce the article referred to.

I venture to sugest that the Foreign Office might us informed of the above facte with a view to

moving/
